  Jw's sending me invites and letters, I don't get it.

  first off, i have made it real clear with jw's my thoughts on being a jw.

  i'm out, there is no coming back.. second, i'm on their " do not call list" .. so why now all of a sudden my mailbox is getting bombed 💣 by their memorial invites and letters?.

  don't they follow their do not call list?

  The do not call list is only as good as the volunteer servant handling it and the little old lady writing the letter. If they are not just using a city directory which has no information.

  I get loan offers, house offers, new church in the area, charity all the time. Easily thrown away.

  Wait until they resume door knocking, then it will be worse. I know, I was territory servant once and got yelled at for not having the secret elders (I wasnt) directions on the do not calls. Funniest part was after a hostile person made a scene they sent 2 elders back to apologize. One a pushy type, the other too dim to catch on to body language

  so apparently robert hendricks the spin doctor of the wt society has been proudly telling news channels how wonderful the wt org has been during the 2 years of the pandemic, checking in with each and every member to meet their needs on a weekly basis.. except, based on the comments of former jw friends on facebook, it's news to most of them since they are screaming out that they were totally neglected by the elders/ms throughout most of that period.

  a couple even said that because of being ignored by the congregation during this time, that they have walked away completely.

  2 edged sword. When the isolation started there's was a smothering daily text meeting on zoom locally. Showed a video every day, prayers. Half hour to hour and 2 on saturdays.That was the extra meetings that was squashed. If you didn't attend you got nagged at. There was no real concern on how we get by and now we get a monthly call, combination welfare check/ turn in time.

  The group leader is a somewhat dim bulb. If we really have a SHTF he will need help himself. I have told my wife to rely on neighbors if I'm not home, we have good ones.

  The food here was moldy and scarce.

  There was a real disaster locally and there haven't even been gossip stories about the aid given, no announcements asking for donations.

  march 22, 2022. over the past eight months, the watchtower bible and tract society has reviewed public and other comments on its proposed development for 155 sterling mine road in ramapo and has revised its plans.. on monday, the applicant was prepared to present its feis (final environmental impact statement) and hoped the ramapo town board would accept its submission as “final,” to move on to review by the rockland county planning department.. instead, the board deferred making decisions, seemingly because they did not have enough time to review some newly submitted documents by the activist group rosa.. “we’re asking the board to take action on the ‘feis’,” said attorney ira emanuel.

  Closed community. WT food, laundry, entertainment. Little positive or negative impact on the community. I imagine a lot of apartments will be temporary residents. Water resources and loss of tax base is a concern. Maybe a new roof for the firehouse?

  Word came that we will go 20 miles across town to a different hall, meet at 9. Must be 2 before but not sure, maybe one of those merged congregation halls plus 1 Spanish there

  No mention of provision for disabled /zoom. Darn

  How can a 65 foot building appear small than 45? Same math as generation? I suppose a smaller footprint would leave more open ground ( parking lot?), but tall things block views.

  I am always torn on groups like ROSA. are they activists for good or nimby types.

  the law of diminishing returns states: the law of diminishing returns is an economic principle stating that as investment in a particular area increases, the rate of profit from that investment, after a certain point, cannot continue to increase if other variables remain at a constant.

  as investment continues past that point, the return diminishes progressively.. from 1900 through the 1980s, the more witnesses that got baptized and pioneered, the more bible studies that could be had and the more additional witnesses that could join and then congregations would get bigger and they would divide and form in other areas.

  but in the 1990s the law of diminishing returns kicked in, particularly in the bigger cities.

  Miniimizing 'Punishment' - marrying a non-JW

  i’d like to marry my best friend of 30+ years, turned ‘secret’ girlfriend of 1 ½ years who is a jehovah’s witness, born into it, baptized and an active ‘pioneer’.

  our marriage would happen prior to letting any of her jw friends and cohorts know that we are together.

  once married she may simply come forward and ‘admit’ or we may wait until it’s found out – one way or the other, the reason for this marriage is not customary – i am hoping that by doing so she can avoid being ‘marked’ or possibly ‘disfellowshipped’ once our relationship is no longer a secret and due to our already being married at that point, there can be no notion from society elders about her ending the relationship.
